Hurd: “To Keep 23rd District Red, We Need Tony Gonzales”
SAN ANTONIO, TX — Today retiring U.S. Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) endorsed Tony Gonzales to succeed him in Congress.
“I care deeply about the hard-working men and women of the 23rd District and want to make sure their next Representative has their values and will fight for them in Congress,” said Rep. Hurd. “This is why I am pleased to endorse 20-year Navy Veteran, loyal husband and proud father of five children, Tony Gonzales to be my successor in Congress.”
Hurd is retiring at the end of the current Congress after serving CD-23 for three terms.
“If the Republican Party does not look like Texas and resonate with all Texans, there won’t be a Republican Party in Texas,” said Hurd. “We need conservatives like Tony to take our message to all parts of the district to prevent the creep of socialism that we’ve seen in other parts of the Country. Tony embodies the American Dream. He has fought for his Country. He has fought for his community and he will fight for the folks of the 23rd District. To keep the 23rd District red, we need Tony Gonzales.”
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Congressman Hurd to succeed him in Congress,” said Gonzales. “I will commit myself to doing everything I can to keep this seat Republican and represent this district as vigorously as he has.”
